Beginners Guide To Using CBD

Before we begin, you need to know a few things. The FDA is firmly against companies saying CBD can cure severe medical conditions or as a replacement for prescribed medications. It is also against the FDA's policy to make medical claims. We suggest talking to your doctor before using. NEVER discontinue medication unless approved by your physician.

GETTING STARTED WITH OUR CBD PRODUCTS

Step One: Pick out your CBD Strength

Lets first find a strength. We recommend starting on the 750/375mg blend. This is because you need to introduce CBD into your system slowly. Once you increase to your desired dose (when things are feeling better), then you can choose the stronger blend of 1500/750mg. So beginners, choose the 750/375mg bottle of CBD.

750/375mg means that there are either 750mg of CBD in your bottle or 375mg of CBD in your bottle. 750mg bottle has 30ml of CBD oil in it. The 375mg bottle has 15ml of CBD oil in it. EACH ONE has 1.25mg per drop of CBD oil or 25mg of CBD per dropper full.

1500/750mg means that there are either 1500mg of CBD in your bottle or 750mg of CBD in your bottle. 1500mg bottle has 30ml of CBD oil in it. The 750mg bottle has 15ml of CBD oil in it. EACH ONE has 2.5mg (double what the the other strength has) per drop or 50ml of CBD per dropper full. So basically, this blend is twice as strong as the first blend so you would take half of what you were taking if you choose to use this blend once you have your dose established.

Step Two: Pick out your Blend

If you want to try a CBD oil with a specific terpene profile, here is a list of what we have to offer. We offer different blends to help boost the terpenes already in the oil. Choosing Regular CBD oil is still a good option also. It contains the natural terpene profile of the hemp plant it was extracted from.

Step Three: How much do I take?

Most people who are new to CBD begin their journey by starting with 2-3mg 2 or 3 times a day (that would be 1 or 2 drops of the 750/375mg blends-NOT DROPPERS, literally drops). You can stand before a mirror if you are having trouble counting the drops or drop the drops on a spoon and slide it under the tongue. You an put it in food but know the bioavailability (how much gets absorbed by the body) of the CBD oil will change.

Then you want to gauge how your body reacted to that amount of CBD. If, after about week, you notice no relief, then increase your dose 1 or 2mg at each dose, and do this weekly (if you are using an edible, double this amount). So a month of dosing may look like this:

  • Week 1: 1-2 drops 2-3 times a day
  • Week 2: 2-3 drops 2-3 times a day
  • Week 3: 3-4 drops 2-3 times a day
  • Week 4: 4-5 drops 2-3 times a day

Continue to monitor your body’s reactions till you find the perfect dosage that works for your situation. CBD works on a bell curve. Too little CBD will not work and too much CBD will not work. You have to find your sweet spot slowly by titration. (Titration is the process of determining the CBD dose that reduces your symptoms to the greatest possible degree while avoiding as many side effects as possible). There are many ways to dose. If one is not working for you, please contact us for more support.

It is also thought that, as our body’s physiology changes, so do the receptors in our endocannabinoid system, which are directly responsible for interactions with CBD. As a result, optimal CBD dosages may shift throughout an individual’s lifetime.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WORK

The amount of time it takes to feel the effects of CBD oil depends on many factors. Two of the top reasons that users give up on CBD oil are not waiting long enough for it to start working and giving up to quickly, or they are not using a high enough dose. Give CBD a chance to work. Remember, your body did not get in the shape it is in over night. For some people, it may take a few months.

MEDICATION INTERACTIONS

At sufficient dosages, CBD will deactivate cytochrome P450 enzymes, thereby altering how we metabolize painkillers, statins, blood thinners, insulin & more. This means that you can end up with your body not getting enough of your medication or getting too much because they aren't being processed through properly. Pharmacists are a wealth of information however there has not been enough studies done on the pharmacokinetics of CBD so even their information is limited. They do suggest leaving a gap between medicines.  Beta blockers, blood pressure, blood thinning and any medication that contraindicates with grapefruit require a 4hr gap. All other medicines, 2 hours.
